Neighbors-4-Neighbors
Sharing food, clothing and connections to community resources with our neighbors in need.
Neighbors‑4‑Neighbors will be taking a summer break.
Our last day of food distribution will be Tuesday, June 30, 2026, and we will re‑open on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
During July and August, our doors will be closed as our incredible volunteers take some well‑deserved time to keep cool, rest, recharge, and spend time with their families. We are so grateful for the compassion, dedication, and care our volunteers and church community share throughout the year. Our families in need are being provided with information about other food distribution centers throughout the Coachella Valley, to ensure they have many options to food access until our return in September.
Thank you for being an important part of the Neighbors‑4‑Neighbors Outreach Program here at SMEC. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in September and continuing to serve our community together.

Hours of Operation - Food & Clothing Distribution:
Tuesdays, 10am - 5pm
We hold to a strong belief that neighbors helping neighbors is vital to keeping communities healthy. Because it isn't practical for us to be everything to everyone, we focus on doing the best job we can in the areas of food and clothing assistance. For the needs we are not equipped to meet, we do our best to connect clients to other resources in the community.
About Us
Neighbors-4-Neighbors (N4N) started in 2007. The St. Margaret's Church youth group held a rummage sale and raised $300. With that they purchased 10 $15 food cards and 10 $15 gas cards and the rest, as they say, is history! N4N is a continuation of St. Margaret's Whitewater Park Food Distribution that operated for 20+ years in Rancho Mirage. To date, we have served in excess of 200,000 families, blessing them with millions of pounds of supplemental food, and tens of thousands of articles of clothing.
Get Involved
We have more than 70 active volunteers assisting an average of 600 families per week. We are always seeking volunteers. Current volunteer opportunities are Tuesdays between 8am and 5pm.
We can always use more clothes for our Clothing Assistance. If you would like to donate gently used clothing and shoes, items can be dropped off at Meyers Hall for donation on Tuesdays, 9-2 & Saturdays, 9-12.
*Clothing items only, please. We do not accept other household items.

- Food Assistance: In partnership with many local businesses and agencies, we provide supplemental food packages that include items such as fresh fruit and vegetables, protein, bread, pantry staples, and more.
- Clothing Assistance: Each week we distribute hundreds of items of donated, gently worn men's, women's and children's clothing. Each week, a hard working team of volunteers sort and hang clothing in preparation for our Tuesday distribution.
- Resources and Referrals: We can't do it alone. N4N St. Margaret's is connected to many local resource organizations. This allows us to assist clients by connecting them to other goods and services that we don't provide directly.
