Solidarity with Immigrants & Refugees
We spread God's love by actively following Jesus' example in our lives, through our journey of faith,
by pursuing social justice, peace and care for each other and our neighbors near and far.

St. Margaret’s Church initiated a new ministry – Solidarity with Immigrants and Refugees (SIR) – chartered to support justice and assistance for immigrants and refugees who live in fear and uncertainty.
We are committed to inclusion and justice for all, joining the Episcopal Church and our Diocese in striving for peace and dignity for every person. We embrace our Baptismal Covenant and follow Holy Scripture in welcoming the stranger and helping those in need. “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.” Matthew 25:35 We provide lawful active assistance and peaceful support to migrants and refugees facing fear and uncertainty caused by evolving immigration enforcement. |
Active Assistance empowers our congregation, migrants, and the Neighbors for Neighbors community through education, administrative support, and vital information.
Peaceful Resistance focuses on achieving our goals through legal means, including policy advocacy at all levels of government and nonviolent demonstrations.
