Our Baptismal Covenant
Our covenant with each other and with God about how we will live "on our way home"
After professing our faith in One God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit using that creed that comes to us from the earliest days of Christianity (the Apostles' Creed) the entire congregation joins the person about to be baptized in this Baptismal Covenant.
The priest or deacon asks the questions, the candidate for Holy Baptism and the congregation respond. We come to weekly worship, we study, and we live and work to live up to and live into the promises we make to each other and to God in this covenant. At St. Margaret's we take seriously our promises to do these thing "with God's help." Please join us in our ministry and programs which are inspired by this Baptismal Covenant.
Will you continue in the apostles' teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in the prayers?
I will with God's help.
Will you persevere in resisting evil, and, whenever you fall into sin, repent and return to the Lord?
I will with God's help.
Will you proclaim by word and example the Good News of God in Christ?
I will with God's help.
Will you seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving your neighbor as yourself?
I will with God's help.
Will you strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being?
I will with God's help.
