Welcome Our New Interim Rector
Please welcome the Rev. Dr. George H. Martin to St. Margaret's Episcopal Church
On Monday, August 31, the Vestry voted unanimously to call Fr. Martin as our Interim Rector. We are confident that his charisma and his experience will be an asset to our congregation as we continue to grow into the parish that God has called us to be.
Fr. Martin comes to us with over 40 years of ministry experience, beginning in 1969 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Ohio. He has previously served as a Rector and Curate in four different parishes, and he has successfully completed five prior posts as an Interim Rector. In addition to his extensive experience with transitional ministry, Fr. Martin brings a wealth of experience from other areas including his service as the Executive Director of the Church Ad Project and his teaching and board affiliations with Baxley Hall Seminary and Seabury Western Seminary. He is a published author, an experienced church planter, and a current member of the board of the Interim Ministry Network.
In addition to his service as an Interim Rector, Fr. Martin enjoys golf and gardening, and he has recently started a home vineyard called Vicar's Vines. He and his wife Caroline share over 45 years of marriage and have four children and ten grandchildren.
It is with great joy that we welcome Fr. Martin as our Interim Rector, and we look forward to celebrating the beginning of his ministry at St. Margaret's on Sunday, September 13. We continue to ask for your prayers and your support as we move into the next season in the life of our parish.
Sincerely,
St. Margaret's Vestry
