To
help the faithful and their guests observe the days of Holy Week and celebrate
the joys of Easter a host of opportunities are offered. Plan to attend one or
all of these Services.
Bring the whole family, your friends, and even your neighbors to our Easter Services.
April 1 - Palm Sunday - Services at 8:00 and 10:00 am. Palms are blessed and given to all who attend as we commemorate Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
April 4 - Wednesday in Holy Week - "Holy Week Quiet Night" begins at 4:00 pm in the Chapel and concludes with a Labyrinth Walk after supper
April 5 - Maundy Thursday - Seder Meal at 4:00 pm in Karns Hall (for all ages) followed by the movie depicting the events of the First Passover. Service of Holy Communion at 7:00 pm commemorating the Institution of the Eucharist by Jesus in his Last Supper. At the conclusion of the Service the altar is stripped, the church darkened, and the congregation leaves in silence.
April 6 - Good Friday - At 8:30 am - Stations of the Cross while hiking to the Cross on the hill overlooking St. Margaret's and the Coachella Valley. Gather near the front steps of the Church.
April 6 - Good Friday - At Noon - Service of Good Friday from the Book of Common Prayer. This service includes the reading of the Passion.
April 6 - Good Friday - At 4:00 pm - Stations of the Cross on the Patio.
April 6 - Good Friday - At 7:00 pm - Tenebrae Service in the church. As the way of the cross is recalled, as the sacrifice of Jesus is remembered, the church becomes progressively darker until at the last only a single candle is visible.
April 7 - Holy Saturday - At 9:00 am - The Holy Saturday Service from the Book of Common Prayer
April 7 - Service of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion - At 5:00 pm - The Readings and Prayers for Easter are used in this service of Baptism and Holy Communion.
EASTER
DAY - APRIL 8th
At 7:00 am - The day begins with the announcement of the Lord's Resurrection, and Holy Communion is shared in this first service of Easter.
At 9:00 am - Service of Holy Communion with great joy. The choir assists us in celebrating the day of the Lord's Resurrection in song; a brass ensemble adds to the festivities of the day. This service is followed by a time for families to gather and greet each other as the children gather up Easter Eggs.
At 11:00 am - Service of Holy
Communion. The congregation is assisted by a brass ensemble and the St.
Margaret's Adult Choir as we sing our praises and celebrate with joy the
Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
