Dear Brothers and Sisters in
Christ,
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the death of Canon Boone Sadler. Boone
died Thursday morning at his home, surrounded by his family. The Holy Eucharist
and Burial Office will be held at St. Paul's Cathedral on Tuesday morning,
October 10 at 11:00 a.m. I encourage you to honor this beloved priest and invite
you to process in alb and white stole.
Boone was a faithful priest for more than 65 years in the Diocese of Los Angeles and the Diocese of San Diego. He was a legend as a church planter and founder of Camp Stevens. Boone has been very supportive of my Episcopate and I will miss his counsel and friendship. He was loved by many of you, and will be missed throughout the diocese. I feel blessed to have known him.
Please pray for Boone's wife, Mary Maud, and all of his family as we gather to honor a husband, father, priest and friend
The Rt. Rev. James R. Mathes
